Meet Ana

  • I just joined PNC this year — right out of college.
  • I’m single and loving it.
  • I live in western Pennsylvania with my parents.
  • All the benefits PNC offers. Since this is my first “real” job, I’m still getting my head around how all the benefits fit together.
  • Exploring all the info on Pathfinder and pncbenefits.com. I had no idea there were so many tools on the enrollment site to help me choose! The Annual Enrollment Guide provided a great overview for me to understand all my options.
  • Whether to go on the medical plan my mom gets through her job. I’m eligible since I’m under 26, but think I’ll opt for PNC’s Health Choice instead because the network options work better for me. I can put money in my HSA to help cover any unexpected medical costs.
  • I downloaded the Castlight app so I can keep track of my medical claims, health care info and Wellness Rewards in one place. It’s easy to use, and I love that I can earn points by tracking my steps each day, then redeem my points for HSA contributions!
  • Health Choice 2 (You only coverage)
    • I’m pretty healthy and typically just go to the doctor for a checkup every year.
    • I decided to go with the higher deductible since it means less money out of my pay and I don’t anticipate having many medical expenses next year.
    • That way, I have more money in my pay, which I can put toward paying down debt.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
    • Since I opted for the higher deductible plan, I opened an HSA and am contributing so I can build a cushion just in case something happens.
    • I’m going to earn all the Wellness Rewards I can to help build my account balance. That’s up to $800 in HSA contributions!
    • I’m eligible for the salary-based PNC contributions, too. That’s another $400.
    • My dad had an HSA with his last company and is using some of that money now to pay for his medical expenses in retirement. I want to try to build up that kind of savings.
    • It’s easy to check my balance on Castlight and watch my savings grow.
    • The HSA Planning Tool on pncbenefits.com helped me decide how much to contribute from my pay. Nice to know I can change that amount during the year if I need to.
  • ISP 401(k)
    • My mom has always told me to “get the company match!” So I’m in for 4% to start.
    • My plan is to increase my contribution a little bit whenever I get a bump in pay.
